Which applies depends on whether a working key remains, the key type the vehicle uses, and whether the vehicle stores its programming in a module that can be accessed on site. Some manufacturers restrict all-keys-lost programming to dealer-level tooling or impose a security waiting period measured in minutes rather than seconds.

Have: whether any working key remains; vehicle year, make and model; whether the key is a blade key, remote-head key or push-to-start fob; proof of ownership in the registered owner's name. Proof of identity and vehicle ownership or written authorisation is required before any key is originated or programmed.

Replacement covers two different jobs that customers often describe the same way. Making an additional key while a working one still exists is a duplication job: the existing key is read, a blank is cut to match, and the new key is added to the vehicle's list of accepted credentials. Replacing a key when none remains is origination, which means deriving the cut from the vehicle's own lock or key code and then programming from scratch. Origination takes longer and requires more from the owner.

It is offered as mobile service across Hampton Roads, Tidewater, the Peninsula, Western Tidewater, the regional airports and Virginia's Eastern Shore. Whether a specific vehicle is eligible is confirmed before a job is treated as scheduled.

For eligible jobs, mobile service can be coordinated at many accessible locations when the owner or authorized party can approve service and site rules allow access.
