Most vehicles built since the late 1990s treat all-keys-lost programming as a security event. Depending on the manufacturer that can mean a timed security delay, a requirement to erase every previously accepted key, or tooling that only some equipment supports. The vehicle's model year matters more here than in any other job.

Have: confirmation that no working key remains anywhere; vehicle year, make and model; registration or title in the requesting person's name, plus photo id; whether the vehicle is drivable and where it is parked. Proof of identity and vehicle ownership or written authorisation is required before any key is originated or programmed.

All keys lost is the hardest version of an automotive key job, because nothing on the vehicle can be read to copy. The cut has to be derived — from the key code where one is available to the owner, or by reading a lock cylinder directly — and the new key then has to be introduced to a vehicle that currently trusts no key at all.

It is offered as mobile service across Hampton Roads, Tidewater, the Peninsula, Western Tidewater, the regional airports and Virginia's Eastern Shore. Whether a specific vehicle is eligible is confirmed before a job is treated as scheduled.

For eligible jobs, mobile service can be coordinated at many accessible locations when the owner or authorized party can approve service and site rules allow access.
