Laser-Cut & Sidewinder Car Keys

Whether a laser-cut key can be produced depends on blank availability for the platform and on whether the cut can be taken from an existing key or must be derived by code. The electronic side is separate: nearly every vehicle using this blade profile also uses an immobiliser.

Have: an existing key, if one exists; vehicle year, make and model; whether the blade has notches on the edge or a channel down the middle; proof of ownership. Proof of identity and vehicle ownership or written authorisation is required before any key is originated or programmed.

Laser-cut keys, also called sidewinder or internal-cut keys, carry a winding channel milled into the flat face of the blade rather than notches along its edge. They are stronger, harder to pick, and require a milling machine rather than a duplicating wheel — which is why many general key-cutting outlets cannot produce them.

It is offered as mobile service across Hampton Roads, Tidewater, the Peninsula, Western Tidewater, the regional airports and Virginia's Eastern Shore. Whether a specific vehicle is eligible is confirmed before a job is treated as scheduled.

For eligible jobs, mobile service can be coordinated at many accessible locations when the owner or authorized party can approve service and site rules allow access.
