Push-to-Start Key Replacement

Every manufacturer implements proximity systems differently, and model year matters as much as make. Some platforms require all existing fobs present so none are erased; some impose a security wait; some restrict all-keys-lost registration to particular tooling.

Have: vehicle year, make and model; how many fobs exist, including any that are lost; whether the vehicle currently starts using the fob's backup position; whether the emergency blade is still in the fob. Proof of identity and vehicle ownership or written authorisation is required before any key is originated or programmed.

A push-to-start vehicle has no ignition cylinder for a key to turn. The fob is detected inside the cabin, the brake is pressed and the button starts the engine. Replacing that fob is entirely an electronic job, with one mechanical exception: the hidden emergency blade that opens the door when the fob battery is flat.

It is offered as mobile service across Hampton Roads, Tidewater, the Peninsula, Western Tidewater, the regional airports and Virginia's Eastern Shore. Whether a specific vehicle is eligible is confirmed before a job is treated as scheduled.

For eligible jobs, mobile service can be coordinated at many accessible locations when the owner or authorized party can approve service and site rules allow access.
