Remote Head Key Programming

Programming typically covers the transponder and the remote separately, and some platforms allow one without the other. Whether a remote-head key can be added on site depends on the platform and how many working keys are present.

Have: vehicle year, make and model; which function has stopped working: starting, locking, or both; how many keys the vehicle currently has; whether the buttons have been damaged or the case has split. Proof of identity and vehicle ownership or written authorisation is required before any key is originated or programmed.

A remote-head key combines three things in one body: a cut blade, a transponder chip, and the remote buttons for locking and unlocking. Because it is three components, it has three ways to fail — and a remote that has stopped locking the doors does not mean a key that has stopped starting the engine.

It is offered as mobile service across Hampton Roads, Tidewater, the Peninsula, Western Tidewater, the regional airports and Virginia's Eastern Shore. Whether a specific vehicle is eligible is confirmed before a job is treated as scheduled.

For eligible jobs, mobile service can be coordinated at many accessible locations when the owner or authorized party can approve service and site rules allow access.
